Savory Cake with Bacon, Carrot, Onion & Cheese

Ingredients :

  • 160gm butter (salted), soften
  • 40gm margarine/ Planta
  • 170gm castor sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 30ml milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 260gm all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 100gm cheddar cheese, shredded, reserve some to sprinkle on top of the batter

Directions :

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
  2. Brush the cake/ loaf pan with butter/ cooking spray.
  3. Sieve both the flour & the baking powder together, set aside.
  4. Shred the cheddar cheese & keep it in the fridge for later use.
  5. Cream the butter, margarine, & castor sugar with an electric mixer.  
  6. Then, combine milk & vanilla essence, half of the beaten eggs, & half of the sieved flour + baking powder, mix well.
  7. Next, combine with the remaining eggs, sieved flour & cheddar cheese, mix well.
  8. Pour the batter into the pan, sprinkle the top with some shredded cheddar cheese, bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake come out clean, about 60 minutes.
