Almond Cripsy Bar

I came across this easy recipe online one day & decided to give it a try.

What I love most about this recipe is, I don't have to let the puff pastry to sit in the room temperature before I can work on it. Baking is very much about the right mood & right time, my mood would have been different by the time the puff pastry is defrost. So this is perfect, I can work on it straight from the freezer while they're still cold.

I use store bought puff pastry - Kawan brand, it is just too convenient to get it from the store instead of making it from scratch at times.

My hubby commented that they taste a little bland (he meant that I needed to put more sugar in it), nevertheless, my hubby & my boy never stopped eating until they're completely gone within just 15 minutes.

Step-by-Step Cooking Tutorials :

I use store bought puff pastry - Kawan brand

Slice each sheet into 6 sticks each.

Lay them on a piece of parchment paper on the baking sheets. Brush a layer of egg white on the pastry.

Sprinkle the almond flakes on top, press lightly.

  1. Brush another layer of egg white & sprinkle (generously if you like it sweeter) of coarse sugar.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until they turn golden brown.
Let cook on a wire rack before removing them from the parchment paper.

Can be stored in the air tight container for up to 3 days.
