Birthday Bash Preparation - Part (ii)

So, the party is finally over yesterday. What a big relieved. I could finally take a breather to rest, & to get some good sleep!

Oops, I forgot that I am a mom, I don't generally get to rest or having good sleep.

We've hired an amazing photographer from Captured by Yvonne for the birthday bash, but we won't be able to see these beautiful pictures until much later.

So now, I would like to share a little bit more of the behind the scene, some of the preparation works that I have spent time doing for the party.

Assorted snacks & small gifts for the party packs.

I bought plain caps of blue & red, & cut out the circle shape imitating the Mario's cap from felt, & stick them to the cap. Each cap's alphabet is personalized with the kids' name's initial.

Here are a little bit more of the props that I have made.

The warp pipe, made of styrofoam & wrap with color paper. The edges were painted with green food coloring so it doesn't look so wrong even if I don't stick the papers too well.

These are the printed props. Each were attached with a styrofoam using double sided tape & later on will be taped to the backdrop, this way, they would present a more 3D feel. ~ idea by Yvonne Fong

Here are a bit more food that I have prepared/ baked for the party table desserts. Each were planned carefully on when to bake them to ensure the freshness remain.

Piranha Cookies~ the lollipop sticks were painted with edible green coloring pen to give a more realistic effect of the flowers. ~

Piranha CookiesPiranha Cookies~ the whole thing (except from the green pots, are edible. ~~ the piranha cookies were made from : the base - cupcakes, top with buttercream & sprinkle with oreo crumbs (as the effect of soil), the leaves are sugar cookies. ~

Double Dark Chocolate Cupcakes
~
made of reduced sugar. ~

Double Dark Chocolate Cupcakes
~ top with swiss meringue buttercream & sprinkle with a little bit of decorating sugar
~

Assorted Fruit Tars
~
fruit tarts made from strawberries, blueberries, & kiwi ~~ the fruits were chosen to match with the party theme color of blue, red, & green. ~

Goomba (alike)
~
Okay, I know these don't look exactly like Goomba, I'm just trying my luck, LOLssss ~
~ the warp pipe alike were ice cream cones dipped in green food coloring, sadly, I forgot to bring these cones to the party.
~

Mario & Luigy's Lollipops
~
these are just for fun, but the kids love these. ~

My tester. He couldn't stop asking for the mushroom cake pop.

Now, if you haven't know it already, yes, it was a Mario Bros theme birthday party.

Here's a sneak preview of the party table.

More to come, soon.
Stay tuned!!
