Baby's First Haircut [by Mummy]

All set for a haircut. Baby on the highchair, with a bowl of snacks. Look at his hair!

I've been cutting my elder's hair since he was 1 year-old+, sometimes you have to play some other roles as a mum, so I'm also a part time barber.

Woohoo, second time using a shaver, I'm getting better at this.

But I've never lay my scissor on the baby's hair before. He has had 1 shaving experience at 2 month-old, & 1 trimming done around 8 month-old by an auntie, well, both were not very good experiences though they weren't a disaster event either.

Half way done & baby is getting bored.

I planned to cut his hair over the weekend, where hubby could hold him in his arms & hopefully can control his movement a little.

But, today, somehow I had this feeling that I had to cut his hair. I couldn't tolerate any longer with his messy & sweaty long hair.

See how spikey is my hair?

So, I placed him on the Ikea highchair, got him a bowl of snacks, wear him a bib which can also cover his body, & then we get all started. Phew. I was so nervous.

Finally it's done. Check out my side profile. Okay there's an obvious hole but overall not too bad right? Hehe..

Well, he was surprisingly calmed & still. I told him not to move or I might have cut his flesh off. Maybe he was nervous deep down too. He didn't struggle, didn't fuss, he was rather co-operative, I was so so so surprised!

Check out my new hairstyle yo!
He stayed cool & let me shaved his hair, for a while he stayed completely stilled, then he started to let loose & started grabbing his snacks to enjoy them. The hair was all over but this little fella was smart enough to only pick those that were not covered by hair.

Mummy saved RM5 for cutting my hair.

It took me about 25 minutes for the whole haircut. Not perfect, I know, but I'm so proud, it's a successful haircut! Yay!!

Never thought this little boy would stay put & let me do my job without struggling. Thanks for being a good boy today baby!

Thanks Yvonne Fong for the hairstyle inspiration.
