Crispy Sesame & Pecan Chicken Wings

On certain days, I like to eat fried chicken, but most days, I prefer it to be grilled, because grilled chicken is juicier, more moist, & also healthier.

Today, it's that certain day that I would like to have some fried chicken. But instead of deep frying them in a wok of oil, I oven baked them. So I save some oil, the cleaning was easier, & a lot healthier too. Of course, they're equally delicious.

I have to try hard to keep my little boy's hands off them before dinner was served.

My picky boy isn't a meat eater, & he himself had 2 pieces of chicken.

Although the steps may look a bit complicated, but it's actually pretty straight forward. No pre-marination is required, just a few simple steps & you can send them into the oven & in 40 minutes you get to enjoy these crispy fried chicken.

Enjoy!

Step-by-Step Tutorial :

Finely grind 1/3 cup of sesame seeds & pecans each in a food processor.

Toss with the breadcrumbs together with chopped scallions, sea salt, sugar, parsley, garlic powder, chili flakes & freshly grounded black pepper.

In 3 separate bowl, place all-purpose flour, beaten eggs, & the breadcrumbs mixture in each one of them.

I place an aluminum foil on my baking sheet for easier cleaning. I also spray it with vegetable oil.

Dip the chicken wings in the flour.

Then dip in the eggs.

And finally coat them with the breadcrumbs mixture.

Bake in the pre-heated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the chicken wings turn golden, & cooked through.

Fresh from the oven. I can't help myself but have already eaten 2.

Crispy from the outside, juicy on the inside.
