Manukan Island, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Hit the Google search & look for the must go places in Kota Kinabalu, & you will find the most of the sites mentioned it's a must to visit their islands, namely Manukan Island & Sapi Island.

Manukan Island happens to be the top of the top island, that is highly recommended among the travelers.

We took the speed boat from the Sutera Harbour port & it took only about 10-15 minutes to reach Manukan Island. It was a short ride even for someone that only gets sea sick like me.

In Yvonne's previous trip, they made a visit to the Sapi Island & were deeply in love with it. She described the island so beautifully & we expected so much more to see in Manukan Island as it's one of the top places that you must go in Kota Kinabalu.

Sadly, it wasn't exactly what we've imagined it to be.

Indeed, the island is beautiful, however the beach appeared to be rather dirty, looks like it hasn't been cleaned for a while.

I didn't capture the pictures of the dirt on purpose, but you'll be able to see them in the above 2 pictures.

Nevertheless, kids being kids, they still have so much fun at the beach. The kids were so busy playing by the beach.

Even mummy get to be relaxed for a little while.

There are many water sports & activities available here.
After your settle down at the table, there will be people come approaching & asked if you're interested for the activities that are available.

You have to book as soon as you make up your mind because some of the activities are quite limited. We missed out the water jetski as it was fully booked already.

But we managed to book ourselves an approximately 10 minutes parachute up the sky.

I was so nervous before flying, I feared that I would be so scared up high, turned out we had great fun & it wasn't scary at all.

The parachute activity is available to occupy a maximum of 2 adults & 1 kid (age 4-5 year old & above). We paid RM90 per pax, the other 2 tourists on the same boat paid only RM60 per pax. >< Well, so you know, you need to bargain to get the best price.

We were told by Jonathan that we should've visited the Sapi Island instead. Manukan Island is the top choice of island that most tourists go to hence the cleanliness is hard to be maintained.

Although the beach wasn't in its best condition during our visit, we still have great fun!

Next trip, we would definitely step our foot into the Sapi Island!
