A Reflection of the Year of 2014

The year of 2014 has past, what greeted me this morning is a lovely Thursday of the year of 2015, the first day of 2015. I am thankful to be able still be with the people I love & the people I care for.

Looking back at the past 1 year of life, I would like to reflect some of the places we've been, & also some of the highlight moments of my life. Well, I've never done this before, this should be fun right?

- Year of 2014 -

January is hubby's birthday month, we don't usually have a big celebration about it, because a simple & small celebration at home would already make him happy, that's how contented my hubby is, that's just one of the many reasons why I love him so.

This year, I baked him a Tiramisu Cake, which is his favorite cake, & also prepare ourselves a simple  dinner with Mushroom Soup & Oven Baked Cheesy Lobster with Roasted Vegetables.

The night ends with cake blowing with the kids, they were so happy.

Chinese New Year 2014 fell in the month of February. We usually don't  have much activities or trips around this period of the year, because hubby is always catching up deadlines before the CNY begins, so he can have a week off during the festive & spend time with the family. We did walk around a few malls to feel the CNY atmosphere. It's a quiet & peaceful CNY celebration.

I love to write since I was young, I've won some writing competitions & had many of my works published in the newspaper (well, history! ;p) so, blogging is actually something that I've really wanted to do but never had the courage to do it, right until this very moment, the fire in me was burning hot & I've decided to give it a try.

I've prepared the "grand launching" of this blog in February, & finally had it published in the month of March, at the same time I've also launched a Facebook fan page.

Blogging has been a good platform for me to share the recipes of the food that I cook/ bake, & also the stories from my daily life. It's definitely tough to juggle between the kids & blogging at the same time, but I'm trying my very best to make it work. Hope I would be able to share more in the year of 2015.

The boys have their first balik kampung to hubby's hometown in Tawau. The life there has absolutely amazed them & all of us have a great time.

May is Clayton's birthday month, my little boy turns 3, we have a simple celebration done at the school, I bake him a Minion Cake & he was so excited & happy about it.

We went to Singapore for vacation right after the birthday bash, however the vacation was cut short because poor lil boy was infected with chicken pox.

Gratefully, he didn't suffer a lot from the chicken pox like I did (I had it at the age of 29, just 3 months before my wedding, argh!!!!), it took him only about 2 weeks to be totally healed, though those scars on him take a while to fade away. Nevertheless, he has been a good boy when he was sick & never gave mummy any big tantrums.

Well done my boy!

We have another big highlight in the month of May, we've hosted a Super Mario theme birthday bash for the boys together, both birthdays are 3 weeks plus apart & it's wonderful that we can have our friends & families joining us to celebrate together.

It was chaotic & a very stressful week for me to do all the preparation for the birthday bash, but all was worth it because our guests have really enjoyed the party to bits.

We thank all our friends & families that were there to celebrate this special day together with us. And many thanks to Yvonne who have given so much help in making this party a successful one!!

BIG THANK YOU!!!

Another birthday celebration month, & this month it's Ashton's birthday.

The little boy turns 1 year-old. He too was infected by chicken pox, no thanks to the virus spread by his brother, but thankfully, his recovery was fast, he was healed within a week, it's probably because he was fully breastfed.

I did a quick cake smash photoshoot with him before his fever hit, although being grumpy due to not feeling very well, we managed to get some shots.

I made him a jelly sponge cake for cake blowing session on his actual day, the birthday boy, loves the cake so much, why wouldn't he? He eats just about anything.

We had a really enjoyable vacation to Kota Kinabalu with Yvonne & family in July. I've been to Kota Kinabalu for so many times but all of them were for work purposes & never once I was there to tourist around. It was a fun & great trip especially because we were there together with our loved ones.

We brought the boys together with their friend, Huan Wei, to the Dinosaur Exhibition at Avenue K. The exhibition hall isn't very big but being the dinosaur fans, the boys definitely have had so much fun exploring in there.

In September, we went to Langkawi with our family, it was our first family trip together after a very very long time. It was also our family of 4 together in Langkawi since our last trip there in 2008 as a couple.

How has time flies.

We have a short 4D3N road trip down the North to Penang, Taiping, & Ipoh. Only a short 1 day stay at each of this place, although it was a bit of a rush, but the boys still enjoyed the trip very much.

I've also found out that I was pregnant during the trip, we will have an additional family member joining next year! How excited!

We've spent 9 days 8 nights in Hong Kong when I was 6 weeks pregnant. It wasn't easy but we've survived. LOL.

We went to Genting 2 times this month, one was to watch the Sesame Street Live Show & one was a spontaneous trip.

I've also challenged myself, we went to Hatyai with my family without hubby.

What a great month it is!

There goes our 2014, we've been to quite a few places & the most important of them all is, we get to be together with our loved ones. There are of course many unhappiness events in 2014, but, let's cherish & remember the good moments & let go of the bad ones.

Hope the year of 2015 will bring us more excitement & joys.

Happy New Year everyone!!
