Braised Potatoes with Minced Meat


This is a simple home cooked potato dishes, & is also one of my comfort food, it's one of the dish that I would always order whenever I stop by at the economy rice stall, they always have this dish.



* Step-by-Step Tutorial *

Marinate the minced pork for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Saute the garlic until fragrant, for a minute or 2.

Add in the minced pork.

When the minced pork turns slightly golden brown, add in the sliced potatoes.

Add in the water, together with the soy sauce & sugar, season to taste.
Turn the liquid to a boil.

Then turn to the lowest heat & simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the liquid is almost fully absorbed.

Dish up & serve.

Ingredients :
100gm minced meat

2 large potatoes, sliced
3-4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1.5 cups water
2 tablespoons light soy sauce, to taste
1/2 tablespoon sugar, to taste
- Marinate -
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
A dash of pepper

Directions :
  1. Marinate the minced pork for a minimum of 15 minutes.
  2. Saute the garlic until fragrant, for a minute or 2.
  3. Add in the minced pork.
  4. When the minced pork turns slightly golden brown, add in the sliced potatoes.
  5. Add in the water, together with the soy sauce & sugar, season to taste.
  6. Turn the liquid to a boil, & turn to the lowest heat & simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the liquid is almost fully absorbed.
  7. Dish up & serve. Bon appetit.
