Air Fryer ~ Carbonara Sauce

I've just bought a smart cooker a few days ago during a fair, & many good deals came along together with the purchase, one of it being the air fryer. I have heard so much about how good an air fryer is for so long, but given the price it costs in the market, I have been hesitating of getting one, so, it's perfect, now I have an air fryer & I don't have to pay for it at all!

So, 2 days after I got the air fryer, I gave it a first trial. The first thing that I tested on was the all time favorite fried food, the fries.

See how gorgeous the fries look? Now I don't feel guilty as I enjoy some home air fried fries anymore. Haha.

I posted this on my Facebook & I have a few kind friends who immediately pm-ed me & share their own recipes with me.

YES! I have really generous friends. ^^

Frances Yee shared the below air fryer carbonara sauce recipe with me, I tried it out next. It's very simple & easy to cook, as there are only few ingredients needed, the sauce is creamy & cheesy & I'm sure you will like it if you're a cheese lover like me.

This exact same recipe can also be applied to cooking on the stove.

Personally I would prefer to cook it over the stove if I have the time to, otherwise, cooking in the air fryer is really another good choice of doing it, because you can be away to handle other dishes while the sauce is cooking away in the air fryer. Very convenient!

The amount of ingredients I use is based on 1 adult serving, feel free to double or triple it according to the servings you need.

Alternatively, if you like the traditional way of preparing the carbonara sauce, you can try out this recipe here too.

~ Step-by-Step Tutorial~

Set the air fryer temperature to 200C.
Use an oven proof dish & place into the air fryer together with the bacon.

About 5-10 minutes cooking the bacon, or until it's half cooked, cut the onions into small bites with a scissor, & add in the onions.

Leave the bacon & onions for another 5 minutes or until the onions are browned, pour in the cream.

When the cream comes to a boil, about 2-3 minutes, add in the cheddar cheese.

After a minute or so, when the cheese is melting away, use a spoon to stir the sauce.
Season with salt & pepper if need to, totally optional.
And it's done! You have the carbonara sauce ready!

Mix it together with the pasta & garnish with parsley & bacon bits or more cheese!!!!! Enjoy!!!
