Slow Cooker Sweet Onion Honey Chicken

Here's another easy slow cooker meal that you can literally dump all the ingredients in & let it cook on its own without having to stand in front of your stove to cook. Easy, convenient & simple.

The leftover sauce of the dish can also be kept in the freezer, it's perfect to be used for pasta dishes & sandwiches, how wonderful right?

* Step-by-Step Tutorial *

Combine onion, honey, soy sauce, Hoisin sauce, garlic & olive oil in a bowl, set aside.
(Add in the red pepper flakes if you want the dishes to be spicy)

Arrange the chicken in the slow cooker, lay flat next to each other.

Pour the mixture that was prepared earlier into the slow cooker on top of the chicken, & cook them on LOW for 4-5 hours, or until the chicken are fully cooked.

Once the chicken are cooked, take them out from the slow cooker & reserve the liquid.

Transfer the liquid to a pot, on medium to high heat, add in the cornstarch mixture, turn it to a boil, & stirring constantly until the mixture has reduced & thicken up.

The leftover of the sauce can be kept in the freezer & to be used for pasta dishes, wonderful!!!

For the kids, I shred the chicken to small pieces, mix with the sauce & garnish with sesame seeds & chopped spring onion.

I also use the same batch of shredded chicken for my pasta, yums!!

For adults, I serve the chicken as it is together with rice. Pour the sauce over the chicken & garnish it with sesame seeds & chopped spring onion.
