DIY Dinosaur Theme Birthday Party

Here comes another year, my boys would be turning a year older.

I thought I wasn't going to host a party this year, at least it wasn't what I had in mind, I'm heavily pregnant & wasn't really in the mood for anything at all, but, waking up 1 morning & I've decided to host them a small party, yes, a "small" one, that was what I first had in mind. And then, we had these super big crowd for the party.

I have 3 weeks time to start preparing for the party, I started with buying dinosar images on Etsy, google for ideas & inspiration of dinosaur parties all over the internet, then I started doing my own planning & projects, from what to be put inside the kids' party pack, to how it should be packaged, to the dessert table, food, decorations, & everything else.

I started working on the party packs, I've selected a few dinosaur images that I've purchased, get them printed & glued on the paper bag, together with a little tag thanking the guests for coming to the party.

Then, I continued working on the photobooth frames & props.

While I bought most of the party pack gifts online, I also made these cute dinosaur crayons, & packaged them myself with label, but I still have to keep telling every parent that everything inside the party packs are not edible, don't these dino crayons just look delicious? Heehe.

Here are the rest of the cute little dinosaur gifts that were placed inside the kids' party pack.
We have dino stickers, mini dino eraser in an egg, mini dino egg that you can hatch, dino pencil, & dino crayons + home printed coloring sheets.

I've also baked some dino cookies, but these babies didn't last long at my house, they were finished off so much earlier than I've expected, so they didn't get to make the appearance at the party :p

The Welcome Board & Keep Calm Signs.

I've also made these no sew dino tails as part of the props.

Thanks to Eva who made these tall & cute standees for the photobooth as well. Don't they look so beautiful????

I also got these cute dino shirts for us to wear for the party, well, it's really not flattering on me right now since I'm so huge, but they sure look very cute on my boys.

And the main star on the dessert table, the dinosaur volcano cake with smokey effect using the dry ice. Nothing makes me happier that the guests love the cake & the kids love the effect.

The cake was baked using this recipe Dark Chocolate Cake .

I couldn't figure out why did I ever choose to host the party in the park in the first place, I was feeling stressful over the unpredictable weather for the whole 3 weeks ever since I made the decision. Thankfully, it didn't rain that morning & was quite sunny, which also means a very hot weather, you'll be able to see that from the pictures below, I look like I just came out from the swimming pool. Haha. But still, I was so grateful that at least it didn't rain.

It did look like it was gonna rain at the end of the party, & I couldn't thank all my friends & their hubbies enough for helping us to clean & keep everything & transport them to our cars.

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!

I hope all our friends & kiddos have enjoyed the dino party, I know my kids have, they have enjoyed it so much & my boys couldn't stop talking about it until today, oh-well, it has only been 2 days since the party. Lol.

And here come some of the highlights of the party!

It was truly tiring to DIY a birthday party, but it all worth it at the end of the day to see the smiles on everyone's face.

Now, I can finally relax, & wait for the big D day to arrive. Phew....!
