DIY No Sew Dino Tail

I was planning for a dinosaur themed birthday party for my boys for the past 3 weeks, came across these very cute dinosaur tail on a Facebook group & was instantly in love with it, however it is too costly to buy one, so I hit on the Mr-Know-It-All : the Google & found some inspiration for some DIY dinosaur tail idea.

There are many tutorials available, but some of them although looks simple to make, but can be rather complicated too. I tried making one sewing by hand but it was too time consuming, so I gave up the idea of making for all the kids that will be attending the party as a door gift, which was my initial thought, after all, we'll be having around 42 kids at the party! Haha, yes, 42 kids!! We're productive in that way. LOL.

Then, just 2 days before the party, my friend Eva has inspired me another even more simplify version of making the dinosaur tail, thank you Eva.

Since I've been using the glue gun very often these few weeks to prepare the crafts & stuffs for the party, so I decided to try out using the glue gun to make a no sew dinosaur tails, & guessed what? Ya, it worked! It is so so so much easier to make, & the best part is, no sewing required, all you need to do are cutting & gluing.

Sounds easy right? It's seriously that easy. The dino tails made a big hit at the party & the kids love them.

Here's the step-by-step tutorial of making the no sew dinosaur tails, hope you enjoy making them & the smiles you're gonna see on the face of your kids - P R I C E L E S S

DIY No Sew Dino Tail

What You'll Need
Felt
Measurement tapes
Scissors
Pencil
3 different sizes of circle shape
Glue gun & glue stick
Cotton or Beans for stuffings

Cut out the tail
(Length) - measure your kid's length from waist down, you want it to fit nicely, long enough but not touching the floor.
(Width) - 40 cm

Fold the felt into half
Leaving 2-3cm from the right, & cut out a triangle shape.
Keep the cut out felt to make the dinosaur spikes & also body print.
Cut out triangle shapes out of the remaining felt, these would be the dinosaur spike. I stacked a few piece of felt together, so its quicker to cut out more spikes at the same time.
Use any 3 different sizes of circle shape that you can find around the house, draw on another piece of cut out felt.
Cut them out, these would be the body print on the dino tails.
Lay the felt flat on the floor.
Take a piece of the dino spike, apply glue stick on 1 side & paste it on the side of the big piece of felt, facing in.
Make sure the spike is facing in.
Following by another piece of spike, you can choose to use either the same/ different color of the spikes.
Continue gluing the spikes until the end of the tail.
Apply the glue at the top end of the spikes.
Fold the felt into half & seal the tail, & wait for a few minutes to let it dry out.
Now, turn the dino tail inside out & tadda!!!! You have a dino tail ready, almost!
Stick on the cut out circle as desired, this is totally optional.
Stuff the dino tails with either cotton or bean bag's beans. I stuffed mine with beans as they're lighter & can hold the shape better.
Don't be over generous with the stuffings, leave some space so you can seal the tail nicely without spilling.

Now, close up the gap & seal the tail like how you would when wrapping a present.
Make sure it's seal properly with no holes for the stuffing to escape.
Finally, seal the top 2 ends of the felt together, & you're done!!!!!
Instead of sewing or using velcro, I tie a ribbon at the end of the tail to tie over the kids' body. This is so much simpler & perfectly fit my requirement of no sew project.
Here's my kids demonstrating the tails.
