Honey Roasted Chicken

This is one of the easiest meal to prepare for dinner. The simple steps to marinate the chicken & then pop it to be roasted into the oven.

I'm serving this together with butter rice but it tastes good just on it own. We have some leftover of the chicken & I'll be cooking a yummilicious chicken porridge with that. Oh yums!

Honey Roasted Chicken

Ingredients :
1 whole chicken

Vegetable of your choice

Marinate :
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
2 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoon brown sugar
Dash of pepper
1 bulb garlic
2 bayleaves

Directions :
  1. Pat dry the chicken.
  2. Marinate the chicken with soy sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce, honey, brown sugar & pepper for 2 hours, or overnight. Stuff the garlic & bay leaves in the cavity.
  3. Pre-heat the oven to 200C.
  4. Place the chicken in the baking dish together with the chopped vegetables of your choice around the chicken. Reserve the marinate gravy.
  5. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 50 minutes, baste the chicken with the marinate gravy a few times in between.
  6. The chicken is done when the skin turns golden brown & the juices run clear.
